- This beautiful green rolling river is
just this green looking most of the time except after a heavy rain. You can see
where the name comes from!

- Today was very windy and cold and
seemed to make the water even more bright and green than usual. I think the green
must come from the large amount of limestone rock found in this area. High bluffs
and hardwood timber, make this another beautiful trip as you canoe along ripples and
eddies. There are many falls along the river also. Along our walk today we saw a
large Pileated Woodpecker. I have often seen Red-Shouldered Hawks here too.

- This river provides water for many
surrounding counties. It is so clean and pure. Some excellent fishing here,
especially Catfish. I have seen one almost 75 pounds taken from this river.
|
- Emily braved the elements today,
because she didn't want Jim going out along the bluff to take these pictures by
himself. This is a very cold wind up on this ridge along the river's edge. But
as you can see it was a beautiful clear day to take pictures.
